| I've always found cuckoos to be a difficult family- in the words of New York birder Lloyd Spitalnik, "you don't so much find cuckoos as they find you." Nevertheless, I've managed to be found by quite a few species, and Yellow-billed Cuckoo has appeared in my local park, Inwood Hill, each of the last few years. The individual below was particularly accomodating, feeding on worms for some time, at close range, at the edge of Overlook Meadow, in the spring of 2004. |
