Least Sandpiper
Calidris minutilla

Sometimes the name "sandpiper" is something of a misnomer; members of this family can be found in grasslands, mountain marshes, freshwater lakes, and even parking lots. This Least Sandpiper was foraging on a boat launch along the Rio Grande, in Salineño, Texas, in December 2004.
