| The remarkable Greater Roadrunner, a member of the cuckoo family, bears little resemblance to the popular cartoon character, but is no less fascinating and entertaining. The only individual I've ever gotten to sit still for a bit was this rather territorial bird, found at a water treatment plant in Salineño, Texas, in December 2004. |
