I've got hundreds of bird images scattered throughout my website, on various journal and photo pages, and many more in stock
that haven't found a home. I've created the following species index to create both an organized collections of these images, and to provide a home
new material. Virtually all of the images presented below are digital stills taken from footage captured with my Canon video camera- the
few exceptions are noted in the species' text. Some of the images are quite good, some are merely adequate- the best video stills don't meausre
up to the quality of dedicated still camera photos. I've tried to weed through the junk, and the more average-quality images are presented because
of a special story related to their capture, or a particular difficulty in filming that species. I've tried to make up for my poor photography skills
by providing amusing or interesting background stories! The content of these pages will continue to evolve, as I add or subtract images and/or species as I collect
more material. As usual, I welcome comments and/or editorial advice- feel free to
